Dr. Sandeep Vaishya

Dr. Sandeep Vaishya is India’s most acclaimed neurosurgeon and one of the world’s leading experts in Gamma Knife radiosurgery. As Executive Director & HOD of Neurosurgery at Fortis Memorial Research Institute (FMRI), Gurugram, he has performed over 15,000 complex neurosurgical procedures across his 30+ year career.  Trained at AIIMS (India’s premier medical institution) and at the Mayo Clinic (USA), Dr. Vaishya is recognised as the pioneer for Gamma Knife surgery in South Asia — a non-invasive technique that uses focused radiation to treat brain tumours, AVMs, trigeminal neuralgia, and metastases without incision. He also specialises in deep brain stimulation (DBS) for Parkinson’s disease and movement disorders, skull base surgery, brachial plexus repair, and complex spine surgery.  Dr. Vaishya gained global recognition when his treatment of a child with severe hydrocephalus was featured in the Netflix documentary ‘Rooting for Roona.’ A former Additional Professor at AIIMS, he has contributed over 100 papers to peer-reviewed journals.
